Day 1: Water Recreation Fun

Grab your swimsuits, flip flops and sunscreen for a day out on Hutchinson Island! On your way, fill up on pancakes from Captain’s Galley — you can thank us later. Then, prepare for a memorable adventure as you arrive to Frederick Douglass Memorial Park where horses will be saddled and ready to take you for a ride on the beach. Bring your camera! For lunch, stop by Archie’s Seabreeze on Ocean Drive/A1A for a burger and fries in a quirky, outdoor atmosphere. The next stop is exploring the Indian River Lagoon — the whole family will discover nature’s wonders as you glide through the beautiful waters and mangrove tunnels on a stand-up paddleboard or kayak in the nation’s most famous estuary that’s home to 3,000 species of plants and animals. When dinnertime rolls around,take the fam to Chuck’s Seafood & Steakhouse for their famous fried shrimp and other fresh seafood. Marvel at the images of trophy catches that line the walls.

Day 2: Get Your Play On

Ready for a day of play? Get a good start with breakfast at Berry Fresh Café in St. Lucie West and enjoy fresh and locally sourced menu items. Then, head to Clover Park for a classic baseball game with St. Lucie Mets! Call (772) 871-2115 for tickets. For lunch, head to Duffy’s Sports Grill, and while you’re there play a game or two of bowling at Superplay, located in the same building. Cool down for the day with a sunset boat ride on the St. Lucie River aboard the River Lilly. Spot alligators, otters, ton of birds and much more on this relaxing ride down one of our most picturesque waterways. Once you anchor down, have dinner at Fernando’s Dockside Grille just a few miles down the road. Enjoy Portuguese cuisine with lovely riverfront views. If the kids still need to burn some energy, take them to DEFY an indoor “Extreme Air” experience where the kids can bounce, jump and play on a variety of trampolines and foam pits.

Day 3: Explore Unique Attractions

Start out the day at Fort Pierce 212 Coffeehouse for a delicious acai bowl & great coffee. Then, sail out to sea on The Lady Chris located at Taylor Creek Marina. This party fishing boat will take you and your family out for some great deep sea fishing! Catch dolphin, sailfish, snapper and many more. Once you arrive back on land, have lunch at Cobb’s Landing where they will cook your catch for you and prepare it with fresh ingredients and sides. A visit to the one and only National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum in the afternoon is a must-do while in Fort Pierce. Once you’ve walked through the amazing exhibits, head to the St. Lucie County Aquarium and be sure to stop at the touch tank — the kids will love it! As the sun starts to set, head downtown to watch the boats come in at the marina and grab a bag a fish food from the marina gift shop to feed the local fish who live under the docks. Wrap up the day with dinner at 2nd Street Bistro (and maybe dad can sneak next door to Sailfish Brewery for a local craft brew while dinner is being prepared).
