Frederick Douglass Memorial Park
Located on South Hutchinson Island, like many of St. Lucie’s beaches Frederick Douglass Memorial Park (link to Frederick Douglass on the beaches page) is situated along an undeveloped stretch of coastline giving beachgoers a truly natural and serene beach experience. The park offers great amenities such as restrooms and covered picnic pavilions. It’s most famous trait is that this beach offers the rare opportunity to ride horseback on the beach. Pepper Park Beachside
This 52-acre lifeguarded beach park is a popular location for snorkelers and divers, as there are several shallow nearshore reefs location roughly 100 yards off the beach. Beachgoers at Pepper Park also enjoy an array of amenities including tennis courts, a softball field, picnic pavilions, paved parking, showers, dune walkovers and restrooms. After a few hours at the beach, head to the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum which is located within the park.
