Wild & Scenic Waterways Paddle

Wild & Scenic Waterways Paddle

Thursday, April 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Wild & Scenic Waterways Paddle at DJ Wilcox & Donald B. Moore Heritage Preserves. The Indian River Lagoon is designated as an Outstanding Florida Waterway and is an aquatic preserve. Besides a beautiful body of water, what other purposes does the lagoon serve for the environment and the local communities that live along the Treasure Coast? Join us as we stand up paddleboard between two different preserves that border the Lagoon. Along the way, we will look for wildlife in the water and discuss the importance of the Indian River Lagoon. *Please note: If weather conditions are poor, we will paddle the St. Lucie River from Richard E. Becker Preserve. Appropriate for ages 14 and older. Stand up paddleboards, US Coast Guard-approved personal flotation devices and paddles provided (you may also bring your own equipment if desired). We highly suggest that you have participated in the “Intro to Paddleboarding” program or have personal experience paddleboarding. The cost is $15 per person. No online registration, please call 772-462-2536 to reserve your space. Reservations are a must.
