Coastal Living named Walton Rocks Beach on South Hutchinson Islands one of the best dog-friendly beaches in Florida. Walton Rocks, a dog heaven, is well loved by the local dogs and their owners; here, dogs can run free without a leash. With over 24 acres of beach, there is plenty of room for pets to run free in the salty air & play in the waves.
St. Lucie is filled with many designated dog parks and pet-friendly attractions. The dog parks include, Lyngate Dog Park and McChesney Park in Port St. Lucie and Savannas Recreation Area Dog Park in Fort Pierce. There are also many preserves and nature areas for pets to explore including Wildcat Cove on North Hutchinson Island, Savannas Preserve State Park in Port St. Lucie and the Heathcote Botanical Gardens in Fort Pierce.
